Vinyl Mesh Tarp
The vinyl mesh tarp is an industrial-grade protective material utilizing 70% PVC + 30% polyester yarn as its core substrate, achieving a breakthrough balance of breathability, tear resistance, and lightweight properties through its grid-weave structure.
This structure features a visible white polyester grid layer embedded within the vinyl coating, which significantly enhances longitudinal tensile strength while maintaining ≥65% light transmittance and ≥180L/m²/s air permeability. This effectively resolves issues inherent in traditional impermeable tarps, such as internal condensation and excessive wind resistance.
The white polyester grid layer, combined with dual-sided waterproof coating and UV stabilizer treatment, ensures long-term anti-aging performance under sustained sun exposure and rain. Compliance with EN13501-1 Class B1 / NFPA 701 fire-retardant certifications and REACH SVHC environmental standards meets stringent safety requirements for industrial, construction, and agricultural applications.
Common Specifications: 130Gsm, 230Gsm, 250Gsm, 270Gsm, 420Gsm, 550Gsm.
Clear Mesh Tarp
The Clear Mesh Tarp (Transparent Mesh Tarpaulin) features an interwoven white polyester grid layer that enhances structural reinforcement while maintaining light transmission. Compared to standard clear PVC tarpaulins, it offers superior tear resistance, though with moderately reduced transparency. This makes it ideal for industrial, agricultural, and construction applications where eliminating the enclosed feeling is essential while maintaining fundamental protection.
Manufactured with a PVC-coated polyester grid fabric base (grid density customizable), the clear mesh tarp is available in multiple thickness options: 12, 16, 20, 28, and 35 mil. Durability is reinforced through UV stabilizers and a dual-sided waterproof coating. Functionally, it delivers >70% light transmittance for clear visibility and protective performance meeting 1,000mm water column resistance (JIS L1092 standard) and Grade 8 wind load capacity (under anchored conditions). Safety certifications include EN13501-1 B1 / NFPA 701 fire-retardant standards (mandatory for industrial fire safety compliance) and REACH SVHC environmental certification (suitable for food processing zones).
When compared to solid PVC tarps of equivalent thickness, the clear vinyl mesh tarpaulin has exceptional longitudinal tear strength and 30–40% weight reduction. However, its lateral puncture resistance is moderately lower. Compensation measures include increasing anchor point density in high-wind areas and adding a cushioning liner in scenarios involving sharp objects.
Clear Vinyl Tarp
Clear vinyl tarpaulin is meticulously manufactured using a large 5.1-meter wide calender, and innovatively employs a water-cooling process for precise cooling. This critical technique not only ensures uniform material stability but also imparts the crystal-clear brilliance and unparalleled visual clarity that define our clear vinyl tarp. When you require a solution that seamlessly balances unobstructed visibility with reliable protection, this transparent PVC tarpaulin, possessing exceptional optical properties, is undoubtedly your ideal choice.
Commonly used for adding transparent viewing windows to vinyl tarpaulins, canvas covers, or barrier fences. Also suitable for transparent coverings, greenhouses, or clear patio enclosures. This allows you to maintain coverage and safety while enjoying clear visibility.
Available in thicknesses of 12 mil, 16 mil, 20 mil, 28 mil, and 35 mil. Complies with FR (Fire-Retardant) ratings, making it suitable for industrial curtains. But its structural strength (tensile and puncture resistance) is slightly lower compared to opaque vinyl tarpaulins of the same thickness.
Tarp Vinyl Automatic Cutting
Automatic cutting of tarp vinyl has completely revolutionized traditional methods that relied on templates, manual marking, and hand-cutting tools (such as scissors or blades). By transmitting digital design files (e.g., CAD drawings) directly to computer-controlled cutting equipment, it enables a highly precise, efficient, and repeatable cutting process.
LonaTarp® primarily uses CNC oscillating knife cutters. The main working principle involves a blade vibrating rapidly up and down (thousands of times per second), driven by a motor, simulating the action of a PVC fabric cutter. The entire cutting head is controlled by a precision CNC system and moves along a pre-designed path on the tarp vinyl material surface to perform cutting. This method is suitable for mass production of almost all types of PVC tarpaulin products, such as truck tarps, tents, inflatable boats, advertising banner materials, and more.
Planar Coverage Dimensions and Shape
In the field of flat surface customization, we support full-width, seamless customization ranging from 1 meter to 3.2 meters in width (eliminating the water seepage risks associated with traditional seams), with continuous production lengths exceeding 1000 meters without joints.
Through CNC cutting machines, we achieve single-pass cutting for rectangles, circles, trapezoids, and even irregular polygons. Simply tell us the tarp vinyl desired shape and dimensions (length, width).
3D Seamless Covering Systems
Traditional vinyl tarp covering solutions, when dealing with complex three-dimensional structures, typically rely on cutting multiple pieces of material and sewing them together on-site. This process inevitably introduces seams, which creates potential leakage points, leads to uneven structural strength, compromises overall aesthetics, and results in a cumbersome installation.
The core concept of the vinyl tarps heavy duty 3D seamless covering solution is to completely this traditional approach. It aims to create a custom-made, complete “garment” for the object, achieving a highly fitted, single-component style cover. Its essence lies in utilizing 3D digital design and advanced manufacturing technologies to directly shape high-performance super heavy duty vinyl tarps into complex curved surfaces that perfectly match the target object’s geometry, ultimately achieving a seamless, integrated, highly durable, and visually clean perfect covering result.
Vinyl Coated Polyester Tarp Welding
The heat welding vinyl tarp is the core and critical process within the entire production flow. Its quality directly determines the final product’s waterproof sealing performance, overall structural strength, and long-term environmental durability.
Fundamentally, welding vinyl tarp is a physicochemical process based on thermal energy: through precisely controlled heat (typically from hot air, high-frequency electromagnetic fields, or heated molds), the synthetic materials on the surface of the PVC coating and its base fabric are locally brought to a molten state. Subsequently, under controlled external pressure, the two molten interfaces thoroughly interpenetrate, intertwine, and fuse together.
After cooling and solidification, the originally separate materials form a dense, continuous, and robust unified connection at the molecular level. This achieves mechanical properties superior to traditional sewing and absolute watertightness. Loantarp® is commonly used vinyl tarp welding tools are these:
Hot Air Welding
Hot air welding vinyl coated polyester tarp utilizes a hot air welder that generates a high-temperature airstream (typically adjustable between 0-700°C) via an electric heating element. This airstream is precisely directed onto both the specific area of the PVC tarpaulin to be welded and a dedicated PVC welding rod. The intense heat instantly melts the surfaces of the parent material (the tarpaulin seam) and the welding rod, bringing them to a molten state.
The operator then uses a roller at the front of the welder or a separate pressing wheel to apply even pressure, forcing the molten welding rod into the seam of the base material. At this stage, the molten PVC molecules from the rod and the parent material interpenetrate and fuse.
Upon removal of the heat source, the materials cool rapidly, and the molecular chains re-solidify, forming a robust, monolithic weld seam.
High-Frequency Welding / RF Welding
High-frequency welding vinyl coated polyester tarp is the preferred method for achieving the highest strength and air tightness. It is a highly efficient technique based on the molecular properties of the material. The two or more layers of PVC tarpaulin to be welded are precisely overlapped and placed on the lower electrode (die). The upper electrode (often also a die) descends, clamping the materials firmly together.
A high-frequency generator creates an electromagnetic field oscillating tens of millions of times per second, which penetrates the materials. PVC molecules are polar; in this high-frequency alternating field, they vibrate, rotate, and collide with intense friction, generating heat uniformly within the material itself. This is the fundamental difference from all external heating methods.
The internal PVC rapidly melts, and under the preset electrode pressure, the layers fuse intimately. The high-frequency energy is then switched off, while pressure is maintained momentarily. The molten zone cools and solidifies, forming a seamless and homogeneous weld. The shape of the electrode dies directly determines the geometry of the weld seam (such as a straight line, zigzag, dots, etc.).
Hot Wedge Welding
This is an automated continuous welding process focused on long, straight seams, commonly found in large-scale production lines. At its core is an electrically heated “hot wedge” (typically a piece of titanium or stainless steel with a specific profile). The two layers of vinyl coated tarps are fed from above and below the hot wedge, whose front edge is inserted between them. Its heat directly melts the surfaces of the materials.
Immediately behind the hot wedge, one or more pairs of pressure rollers (such as a drive roller and idler roller) apply significant force to the freshly melted vinyl coated tarp materials, pressing them together. This process is continuous; as the material is fed forward, a consistent and uniform weld seam is formed. The shape of the hot wedge determines whether a single or dual parallel weld seam is created.
Sewing Vinyl Tarp Material
While high-frequency welding offers optimal waterproofing, sewing remains an extremely important and irreplaceable process in vinyl heavy duty tarp manufacturing, particularly for applications requiring extremely high structural strength, flexible connections, or complex assembly.
Sewing vinyl tarp material is entirely different from sewing ordinary textiles; It places special demands on equipment, thread, and technique. Standard household or light industrial sewing machines are not suitable for this task. It is essential to use specialized industrial heavy-duty walking-foot sewing machines or high-lift sewing machines.
Since needle punctures create water leakage paths, all sewn PVC tarpaulins must undergo a waterproof sealing treatment. There are two primary methods: heat-sealing tape and applied sealant.
The heat-sealing tape method primarily involves covering the back of the stitched seam with a special PVC-based tape. A hot air welder or a dedicated heat press is then used to heat the tape, causing it to melt and fuse with the tarpaulin substrate.
The applied sealant method involves coating both the front and back of the stitched seam (especially the needle holes) with a specialized PVC sealant (a viscous liquid).
Best Vinyl Tarp Materials Hardware Fittings
The hardware fittings along the tarpaulin edge are indispensable core components of the entire vinyl tarp material system. Their performance and quality directly determine the tarpaulin’s overall performance in practical applications. These fittings are not merely simple connectors; they are critical elements that bear mechanical stress, ensure sealing effectiveness, extend product lifespan, and optimize the user experience.
They serve four primary functions: Securing, Protecting, Tensioning and Connecting. The appropriate selection of hardware fittings, the weather resistance of their materials, and their (collaborative design) with the tarpaulin body directly impact the safety, durability, and functional integrity of the entire protective system.

Protective Fittings
The core of the “Protection Function” lies in the use of additional fittings. These fittings are designed to bear the brunt of abrasion, impact, and stress, thereby sacrificially protecting the main pvc vinyl tarp material samples and significantly extending its service life.
This is particularly critical because the edges and stress points are the most vulnerable areas of a tarpaulin and are most prone to failure.
Anti-Tear Protection
(Reinforcement Patches)
A reinforced patch on the PVC tarp’s back that distributes pulling force from hardware over a wider area to prevent ripping. Made from standard or heavy-duty materials like leather or UHMWPE fabric.
Anti-Abrasion Protection
(Corner Protectors)
These are specifically designed to protect the vinyl tarp’s most vulnerable four corners. Typically made from tougher plastic or rubber, they wrap around the tarpaulin corners to prevent them from being snagged, abraded, and torn.
(Wear Pads / Rubbing Patches)
These are additional layers of vinyl PVC tarp material that are sewn or welded onto areas of the tarpaulin most prone to friction, such as the bottom edges, corners, and points of contact with ropes. They act as a “sacrificial layer”, taking the brunt of the wear and tear. When they become worn out, they can be replaced, while the main PVC vinyl tarp body remains intact and undamaged.
Edge Structure Protection
(Bias Tape / Edge Binding)
Although it is not traditionally considered “hardware,” it is crucial for protection. This is a fabric strip that wraps around the raw edge of the super heavy duty vinyl tarp and is sewn firmly in place. It prevents moisture from seeping into the base fabric through the edge, protects against abrasion and fraying, and gives the edge a neater, more professional appearance.
Tensioning Function
The primary function of tensioning is to provide an adjustable mechanical means to pull the vinyl polyester tarp is edges or specific points taut and secure them to a frame or structure. This eliminates slack and wrinkles, resulting in a smooth, tight, and wind-resistant surface.
(Draw Cord for Tarpaulin)
This is the most fundamental function of the lashing rope. It securely anchors the vinyl polyester tarp to trucks, racks, supports, or other external structures, preventing the cover from shifting or becoming detached due to wind force, vehicle movement, or accidental impact.
(Cord Lock for Tarpaulin)
The core design purpose of a vinyl polyester tarp rope lock is to provide a fast, labor-saving, and secure method to tension the tie-down rope and lock it securely under any amount of tension, preventing it from accidentally loosening.
(Buckle Straps for Tarpaulin)
A high tear strength vinyl tarp buckle strap is a complete fastening system that integrates quick-tightening, secure locking, and convenient release functions. Its core functionality far exceeds that of simple ropes, making it one of the most efficient and reliable solutions for modern tarpaulin securing.
(Oversized Grommets)
The oversized grommet is a heavy-duty reinforcement component in a large vinyl tarp system, and its function extends far beyond being a simple rope hole. Its core design purpose is to address the potential failure of standard grommets under extreme pressure.
Connection Function
The connection function involves joining multiple tarps together or attaching a lightweight vinyl tarps to other objects (such as truck doors or frames) in a fast, reliable, and often weather-resistant manner. This creates a larger coverage area or allows access for personnel and equipment.
(Velcro Split)
It consists of two strips: a hook strip and a loop strip. They are sewn or welded onto the two lightweight vinyl tarps that need to be connected, and adhere firmly when pressed together. This system is ideal for applications requiring frequent, quick opening/closing without the need for absolute waterproofing, such as access flaps on equipment covers or overlapping sections on truck tarps. Its key advantages are silent operation and exceptional convenience.
(Zipper Split)
It creates a completely sealed connection, preventing the passage of gas or liquid. The teeth are typically large plastic or nylon and are coated for waterproofing. A waterproof sealing tape is bonded to the back of the zipper via high-frequency welding onto the outdoor vinyl tarp, sealing the needle holes. An external storm flap is usually installed over the zipper to further prevent water ingress.
Printing Custom Vinyl Tarps
Vinyl laminated tarp printing is a critical technology in the fields of outdoor advertising and industrial signage. Its application extends far beyond simple pattern presentation, representing a systematic engineering effort that must withstand extreme environmental conditions. The core requirements, strong adhesion and exceptional weather resistance, directly determine the service life and effectiveness and value of the printed product.
